We are hiring a scientific computing engineer (IR HPC - CDD 2 ans) at Laboratoire Lagrange (CNRS / Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur / Université Côte d'Azur, Nice, France).
CONTEXT
The position is associated to Plasma-PEPSC 2, the EuroHPC Centre of Excellence in computational plasma physics. The Plasma-PEPSC 2 consortium spans 17 institutions in 11 European countries. Within the consortium, we support HPC simulation campaigns tied to the BepiColombo, JUICE and Comet Interceptor ESA exploratory space missions.THE WORK
Port to Kokkos, profile and optimise Menura (a hybrid particle-in-cell plasma code written in C++ / MPI-CUDA), targeting both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs. Build the continuous integration (CI) pipeline and the regression tests. Deliver the public release of the code. Target machines: Jean Zay, Leonardo, LUMI, MeluXina.PRACTICAL
12-month fixed-term contract, renewable for a second year. Start 4 January 2027.
EUR 3,175-3,682 gross per month depending on experience. Based in Nice, France.
