Join an ANR-funded project at Geosciences Montpellier to study how liquids control deformation in the sub-arc mantle of subduction zones. Develop ML-driven numerical models to link micro- to macro-scale processes.
Key tasks:
- Train ML models for phase/magma predictions.
- Integrate models into two-phase flow simulations.
- Validate with natural analogs.
Duration: 20 months
Start: May–Nov 2026 (flexible)
Requirements:
- PhD in geophysics/computational geosciences.
- Strong numerical modeling and programming skills (Python/C++).
- HPC/ML experience a plus.
Apply: Send CV, cover letter, and 2 references to nestor.cerpa@umontpellier.fr. Rolling review.
